Airport and Seaport Transfer Services - Guided, Themed and Sightseeing Tours
GENERAL
SIGHTSEEING TOURS are ideal for those who have
a wide range of interests. You may like to base your
personalised tour on one of the many ‘tried and
tested’ general interest sightseeing tours
that Midway have developed and perfected over the years,
or we can plan a tour to your suit you. In all cases
the general interest sightseeing tours provide our visitors with
a unique insight into the British & Irish way of
life, and we always include many places well off the
beaten track that are unlikely to be found by those
without specific local knowledge.
SPECIFIC SUBJECT OR THEME TOURS are
another Midway speciality, and we can base your personalised
tour on any subject of you choose. To give you an idea,
some of the tours we have undertaken recently have included
for garden lovers "Country Gardens In Spring",
for bell-ringers a "Campanology Tour of Southern
England", and for those interested in the age of
steam "Preserved Steam Railways In Britain".
In 2005 we also carried out a tour for a group interested
in “Micro-Breweries & English Ale”.
Other specialist subject tours have included Cathedrals
and Abbeys, Popular Film Locations, Stately Homes and
Castles, English Mystery Writers, World War II History....
the list goes on.
FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN GENEALOGY
we can assist with all the research necessary to trace
your ancestry as far back as possible, and then provide
a tour based on the information discovered. It is essential
that as much planning is done as possible prior to the
tour, as it is not practical to attempt complicated
research during the trip. To make the best of your time
you really should come armed with all the information
you possibly can.
Please call us without obligation - we will be pleased
to discuss your touring requirements with you.
Contact us
If you or anyone travelling with you needs to KEEP
IN TOUCH WITH FAMILY, friends, or business
associates while you are touring with Midway, you are
welcome to take advantage of the Midway Loan-Phone Scheme.
Midway will provide you will a cellular telephone for
your use during your tour, and we will advise you of
the cell-phone number prior to your leaving home. You
can leave the number with anyone who may need to contact
you. This phone is loaned to you FREE OF CHARGE,
and any incoming calls you receive are free. You only
pay for any outgoing call you make, and of course, if
you lose the phone you will be charged for it.
PERSONALISED TOUR PRICES can be much
lower than you would expect to pay for such a specialised
and personal service. As each tour varies in so many
ways it is extremely difficult for us to provide a general
price list. Rates vary depending on the number of people
travelling, the type of accommodation chosen, the size
and type of vehicle used, and of course the duration
of the tour. Our policy is to quote ‘all-in’
rates per vehicle – not per person, however should
the cost be split between tour participants a breakdown
can be provided to show any single supplements which
may be incurred. Please Contact
us without obligation and we will be pleased to
provide you with rates applicable to your own particular
requirements.
Our Policy is to provide a comprehensive all-in fixed
rate, with absolutely no hidden extras or add-ons. For
example, we do not make an excess mileage charge, nor
will you be asked to pay for 'overtime' should you use
the vehicle and Driver-Guide in the evenings during
your tour. Unlike most companies tax is included in
the rates we quote you.
MORE ABOUT SMALL GROUP TOURS
Our prices compare very favourably with those
of large group bus tours, especially when you consider
the tremendous flexibility and high level of personal
service that we provide. Renting a car and driving yourself
may initially appear to cost less, but that 'special
self-drive deal' is not such a bargain when you consider
the trauma and stress of driving on Britain’s
congested roads, and pay for fuel (at about $8 - $9
a gallon) and extortionate parking fees.

MIDWAY SMALL GROUP
TOURS of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland
are ideal for anyone who appreciates travelling in the
company of other like minded people, but do not relish
the thought of large group bus tour. Midway’s
general interest and specialised subject small group
tours are carried out at a leisurely and relaxing pace,
with ample un-rushed time to spend at the various stopping
points and attractions. Our tours bear absolutely no
resemblance whatsoever to the hectic charge about itinerary
associated with the large group bus tours.
Our comfortable Mini-Coaches can travel the smaller
byways, country lanes, and narrow streets that the large
tour buses simply cannot negotiate. We visit quaint
tucked away villages, and enjoy lunch or tea in small
Inns or tea rooms. Midway’s general interest and
specialised subject small group tours operate throughout
the year with group sizes range from 6 to 12 persons,
and they represent incredible value for money. Due to
limited availability and very high demand Guests are
urged to book their place well in advance. Please click

Ask yourself these questions…… Do you like:
• Travelling in a small group?
• Knowledgeable, friendly, and well educated tour
guide?
• Getting to know your fellow travellers before
setting off?
• An itinerary that involves very little packing/unpacking?
• Exploring with a knowledgeable local guide and
having time to see the things that interest you?
• Getting down the real back roads, not the tourist
traps?
• No commissioned store / factory / shop visits?
If you have answered “yes” then a Midway
Small Group Tour is right for you!
MIDWAY SMALL GROUP TOURS are all priced
as “Land Only” packages. This provides you
with maximum flexibility in your choice of carrier,
class of service, and use of frequent flyer miles. Our
tours commence in Central London and conclude when we
deliver you back to your London departure airport. Of
course if you would like to stay on, after your tour,
we can make any necessary reservations for you, and
take you back into Central London.
Our goal is to minimize the amount of packing and unpacking,
and our accommodations are selected with great care
to reflect local character and ambience. All accommodations
are inspected annually and approved by the British Tourist
Authority for quality, and standard of service, and
all bedrooms will have ‘en suite’ facilities
(private bathroom). We also strive to use hotels located
within small friendly towns and villages so that our
clients can set their own after dinner pace. Some clients
may choose to turn in early, whilst others may wish
a leisurely stroll around the town or head off to the
pub to meet and chat with the local people.
MIDWAY SMALL GROUP TOURS are as formal
or informal as you want them to be. As all but the most
prestigious restaurants and hotels do not have strict
dress codes, casual clothing is quite acceptable. This
is a godsend in that you can bring minimal luggage.
You should bring an “Anorak” (waterproof
rain jacket) in case of the unlikely event of a little
dampness in the air, but as we provide umbrellas you
don’t need to bring these yourself. Most old country
hotels, B&B's, Pubs, and Inns do not have air conditioning,
as for the most part this is only available in the newer
chain motels and big city hotels.
Because we care as much about your vacation as you
do, MIDWAY SMALL GROUP TOURS
are not tied to rigid schedules. They are specifically
designed to give you time to visit the places that interest
you, time to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds,
time to explore at a pace that suits you and time to
visit with and chat to local folk.
